The Nashville Jazz Orchestra is an ensemble comprised of Nashville's best recording musicians and music educators, who are committed to the performance of the exciting, powerful music of the big bands. The NJO fosters the continuance of the great big band tradition by encouraging the development of new music and musicians. The band has also had the privilege of accompanying prominent guest artists, such as Kirk Whalum, Donald Brown, Jeff Coffin, Annie Selleck, and Christina Watson. The NJO is directed by Ted Wilson.
